CONSULTING SERVICES Consultation is provided in person through on site meetings and workshops or can be provided via phone, fax, or email. Please feel free to contact us for a preliminary interview to discuss your church's needs. CONSULTANTS Nancy LeRoy and Bill Umberger are married to each other. They have been involved with Unity Church of Harrisburg, PA since approximately 1990. They have served as project managers for 2 renovation projects for that church. The first project was in 1996 when they managed the renovation of a small church building (approx 2,500 sq ft). The second was in 2002 when they managed a major renovation and redecorating project on 2 large buildings. The 1996 renovation project was accomplished on time in 8 weeks. The 2002 renovation project was completed on time in two phases. Phase I was the renovation of the main church building (Sanctuary, Book Store and Sunday School rooms) plus Fellowship Hall in the lower level of the second building, all of which took 11 weeks. Phase II was the renovation of the first floor of the second building to convert what had been a residence into the church administrative offices. Phase II took an additional 8 weeks to complete. The first renovation project on the small church had a $30,000 budget; the second project on the larger property had a $208,000 budget. CREDENTIALS Nancy P. LeRoy - Nancy is an ASID Interior Designer with 13 years of experience managing a full service interior design/design build remodeling business. She is experienced in the areas of space planning, design build remodeling, and all aspects pertaining to the renovation and redecoration of interior spaces. In her church she has served as Chair of the Search Committee and has taken 60 hours of Peacemaking training. She is serving locally as a Mediator with a dispute resolution center which receives referrals from local police, judges and district justices. She had a previous 11 year career in Fund Raising and developed the successful fund raising campaign that funded the $200,000 renovation project of the Unity of Harrisburg church. William L. Umberger - Bill is the full time Projet Manager for Special Spaces with 15 years experience in all types of building and renovation projects. He has a wide variety of business background and experience having owned his own business for many years. He has served on our local Unity Board as Treasurer and for 3 years as President of the Board. During his Presidency, the church hired a new minister; bought a new facility and sold the original church, oversaw the major renovation of 2 buildings prior to moving to the new church; and conducted 2 major fund raising projects within a 3 year period. The first fund raising project was an effort to pay off the existing mortgage which enabled us to be in a solid financial position to purchase the new church. Bill formerly served as President of the Board of another church denomination (United Church of Christ) and served on their National Board. Nancy and Bill's wide variety of experience in business and church leadership positions have given them a vast amount of knowledge and experience. The skills that they have developed through all of these experiences have been utilized in their work with their own church. Those skills may be useful to other churches as well.

.....QUICK TIPS

......When designing and decorating "SACRED" spaces, follow the same guidelines as for residential spaces. First decide the mood you are trying to create, then make sure that every decision you make is in harmony with the mood.
..... Stick to the plan, otherwise designing by committee can be a nightmare.
......Color is psychological not just aesthetic. Understand the psychology of colors.
......"MYTH" - The Minister is the best fundraiser in the church. "TRUTH" - The Minister holds the vision for the fundraising effort and gives period talks regarding the vision.
...... 20% of your membership will give 80% of your financial and volunteer support. Design fund raising and volunteer programs with this expectation.
